Anatomy of the loan

What a $600, six-payment loan looks like

Every payment is the same size, but what's inside it changes. Early payments are mostly interest; by the last one almost all of it is principal. That's why paying extra early saves so much — and why stretching the schedule costs so much.

  • 1Interest accrues daily on the balance. Fewer days outstanding = less interest. There's no prepayment penalty.
  • 2The schedule is locked at signing. Number of payments × amount = total of payments, shown on the agreement.
  • 3Change an amount with 2 business days' notice. Call 855-432-7654 or email [email protected].

Who an installment loan fits

A good fit when

  • The expense is one-off and under $1,500 — car repair, a medical bill, a deposit
  • You can clear it in a few paychecks and you'd rather have fixed payments than a payday balloon
  • Bad or thin credit rules out a bank or credit union today
  • You've priced the cheaper options and they're not available in time

Not a fit when

  • You'd need to re-borrow next month — the APR makes repeat use very expensive
  • You want to build credit (Crane Finance doesn't report to bureaus)
  • A credit-union PAL (28% cap) or employer advance is reachable this week
  • The amount needed is over $1,500 — use the $200–$5,000 request instead
Common questions

Crane Finance installment loans — quick answers

How much can I borrow with a Crane Finance installment loan?
$100 to $1,500. The minimum initial loan is $100; the amount approved is based on the income and details in your application.
How long is a Crane Finance installment loan?
Crane Finance does not publish a fixed term. Payments are due on each of your pay dates and the number of payments is set in your agreement; borrower reports describe schedules of roughly 2 to 12 payments.
Is a Crane Finance installment loan a payday loan?
No. A payday loan is repaid in one lump sum on your next payday. A Crane Finance installment loan is repaid in several fixed payments on successive pay dates, with no roll-over.
Versus

Installment vs the other three short-term products

vs payday

Several payments, not one

A payday loan takes the whole amount plus fee from your next check. An installment loan spreads it over pay dates, so a single paycheck isn't wiped out — but you pay interest for longer.

vs line of credit

Fixed, then finished

A line of credit (Integra, Uprova) stays open and tempts repeat draws. Installment closes when the schedule ends. Crane vs Integra →

vs bank personal loan

Fast and expensive

A bank or credit union loan takes days and needs decent credit, at 8–36% APR. Crane Finance is next-day with no bureau check — at a reported 300–700%+.
