Borrower getting a clear answer about qualifying with bad credit

Crane Finance bad credit loans: your score isn't the question

A 520 FICO® doesn't stop a Crane Finance application, because the lender doesn't pull one. It looks at ninety days of income and a different set of databases entirely. Here's what's actually checked, three real profiles and how they fare, and the honest trade-off.

Any score — or no scoreCrane Finance sets no minimum and doesn't rank applicants by FICO®. The whole range qualifies to apply.

What's checked

Not your FICO® — your last 90 days

What Crane Finance doesn't weigh

  • Your FICO® or VantageScore — "does not utilize traditional credit bureaus in the same manner employed by other lenders"
  • Old collections, charge-offs, bankruptcy that's been discharged
  • Credit-card utilization or length of history
  • Student-loan or medical debt

What it does weigh

  • Income deposits for 90+ days — the amount sets your approval, not your score
  • Identity match across name, DOB, address, bank
  • Alternative-credit files: prior online or payday loans, defaults, bounced ACH
  • Checking-account health — recent NSF returns are a red flag
  • It may still pull credit "to determine eligibility and ability to repay"

Three profiles

Who gets approved, who doesn't

Composite profiles based on the published requirements and borrower reports. Not a decision from the lender — a map of where the line falls.

Usually approved
510FICO®

Steady job, messy past

Two years at the same employer, bi-weekly direct deposit, a 2021 charge-off and a closed card. No online loans in the last year. Crane Finance sees the deposits and a clean Clarity file.

Borderline
590FICO®

New job, thin deposits

Started six weeks ago; only three paychecks have landed. Score is better than profile 1 but the 90-day income rule isn't met yet. Apply after the fourth or fifth deposit.

Usually declined
640FICO®

Good score, open online default

Fair FICO®, but a Fineday Funds loan from last spring went unpaid. FactorTrust shows it. Crane Finance's databases flag exactly this — the score never comes into it.

Common questions

Crane Finance bad credit loans — quick answers

Does Crane Finance approve bad credit?
Crane Finance has no minimum credit score and says it does not use traditional credit bureaus the way other lenders do. Approval rests on 90 days of verifiable income, identity, and alternative-credit databases (Clarity, DataX, FactorTrust) that track prior online and short-term loans.
Will a Crane Finance loan hurt or help my credit score?
Neither, in most cases. Crane Finance doesn't report to Equifax, Experian or TransUnion, so on-time payments won't raise your score. A default could be sold to a collector who reports, and will be recorded in the alternative databases other online lenders check.
What credit score do you need for Crane Finance?
None is published or required. Borrowers with scores in the 400s and 500s report approvals; what matters is steady income deposits and no open defaults with other online lenders.

The trade-off

Easy approval has a price — two of them

1 · The APR is the cost of skipping the scoreNo-bureau lending is priced for risk: reported APRs of 300–700%+. If your score is 580+, a state-licensed lender like OppLoans (59–160%) or a credit-union PAL (≤28%) will usually approve you too — for far less. Crane vs OppLoans →
2 · It won't rebuild your creditCrane Finance doesn't report on-time payments to the bureaus. If rebuilding is the goal, a secured card or a credit-builder loan does that for under 30% APR. Credit-building alternatives →
Where Crane Finance wins: speed and certainty when your score is below ~560, you need under $1,500, and you can clear it in a few paychecks.
