What we collect when you read or submit a loan request, exactly who sees it, how long we keep it, and how to get it corrected or deleted. Nine short sections.
01Scope of this policy
This Privacy Policy explains how cranefinanceonline.com (the "Site", "we") collects, uses and shares information when you visit the Site or submit a loan request. It applies only to this Site. Lenders you are matched with — including Crane Lending, LLC (Crane Finance) — have their own privacy policies, which govern anything you share with them directly or on cranefinance.com.
02Information we collect
Information you give us through the loan-request form: name, email address, phone number, ZIP code, requested amount and purpose, income range and pay frequency, whether you have a checking account, and your consents. We do not ask for your Social Security number, bank login or account numbers on this Site; those are requested by the lender, on the lender's site, only if you proceed with an offer.
Information collected automatically: IP address, approximate location derived from it, device and browser type, pages viewed, referring URL and timestamps, collected via server logs and cookies (see section 05).
Information from others: if a lender in our network accepts your request we may receive confirmation that an offer was made or a loan funded, for billing and fraud-prevention purposes — not the loan terms or your account details.
03How we use it
- To send your loan request to lenders in our network that serve your state and requested amount, and to let them contact you about it.
- To operate, secure and improve the Site, including measuring which pages are useful.
- To respond to questions, corrections and privacy requests.
- To prevent fraud and comply with law, including responding to lawful requests from regulators or courts.
- With your separate consent, to send occasional email about loan options. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
We do not sell your personal information for money. Sharing your request with lenders so they can make you an offer is done at your direction when you submit the form.
05Cookies and analytics
We use strictly necessary cookies (security, form progress) and, where permitted, analytics cookies that tell us in aggregate which pages are read. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking pixels. You can block cookies in your browser; the Site works without them, though the loan-request form may not remember your progress.
06Your choices and rights
- Access, correct, delete: email [email protected] and we will confirm what we hold, fix it or delete it within 45 days, after verifying it's you.
- Opt out of marketing: use the unsubscribe link or email us. Transactional messages about a request you submitted are not marketing.
- Do Not Sell or Share / Global Privacy Control: we do not sell personal information. We honor GPC browser signals as an opt-out of any sharing that would qualify under state law.
- State privacy laws (California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas, Oregon and others) may give you additional rights to know, delete, correct, port and limit; we extend these to all U.S. residents on request and will not discriminate against you for exercising them.
- Withdrawing a request: once sent to lenders, withdrawal must also be made with each lender that contacted you. We will tell you which ones received it.
07Security and retention
Form submissions are encrypted in transit (TLS) and stored with access limited to staff who need it. No method is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your data we will notify you as required by law. We keep loan-request data for up to 24 months for fraud prevention, billing reconciliation and legal defense, then delete or anonymize it. Server logs are kept for 90 days.
08Children
The Site is for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18; if we learn we have, we delete it. Parents who believe a child has submitted information may email us.
09Changes and contact
We may update this policy; the "effective" date at the top changes when we do, and material changes are flagged on the Site for 30 days. Questions and requests: [email protected].
